Lip Lift
Shortening a lengthened upper lip to restore a youthful smile — a subtle but powerful adjunct.
What is a lip lift?
With age the skin between the base of the nose and the top of the upper lip lengthens, the lip thins and rolls inward, and the teeth show less. A lip lift removes a small strip of skin just under the nose (a ‘bullhorn’ incision hidden in the nostril sill) to shorten this distance, roll the lip outward and restore youthful tooth show.
Why it is an adjunct
A facelift lifts the lower face but does little for the central upper lip. For patients bothered by a long, flat upper lip, a lip lift is a small procedure with a noticeable rejuvenating effect, and the scar under the nose usually heals discreetly.
