Lower Facelift
The most commonly requested lift, focused on jowls and the jawline — what it addresses and how it pairs with a neck lift.
What is lower facelift?
A lower facelift targets the bottom third of the face: the jowls and the jawline. It is the area most people picture when they think of a facelift, because jowling and a blurred jawline are among the earliest and most noticeable signs of ageing. The surgeon tightens the SMAS along the jaw and redrapes the skin to restore a clean jawline.
Because the jaw and neck are continuous, a lower facelift is very commonly combined with a neck lift — together they are sometimes called a ‘lower face and neck lift’.
Who is it best for?
It suits patients whose main concern is jowling and loss of jawline definition, with or without neck laxity. It can be performed with SMAS, extended SMAS or deep plane techniques depending on the degree of correction needed.
