MACS Lift
Minimal Access Cranial Suspension lift: a short-scar facelift using purse-string sutures to lift tissue vertically.
What is macs lift?
The MACS lift (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) is a short-scar technique that uses strong purse-string sutures anchored to the firm tissue in front of the ear to lift the SMAS and deeper tissues in a mainly vertical direction. The shorter incision avoids the scar behind the ear used in many full lifts.
Because the lift is vertical, it can give a natural rejuvenation of the cheek and jowl with less extensive dissection than a traditional lift.
Who is it best for?
It suits patients with mild to moderate jowling and modest neck laxity. As with the mini lift, it is not designed for heavy necks or advanced sagging, where a full facelift with neck lift is more appropriate.
